Can't see the survey?
|
We are a research and analysis driven academic consulting firm that seeks to enable our students and employees to realize their aspirations.
Primary service offerings include: FAQs
1. Why do we need the survey?
The Survey response data will help provide a more human and intangible picture of schools that traditional data like test scores, demographics, and the like cannot. This picture in turn will help parents better choose a school for their children, administrators improve the quality of their services, and students to learn more effectively.
2. How will GenAc disseminate the survey?
Parents will access the Survey online. We will work with multiple channel partners to help ensure that parents are aware of the Survey. Responses are posted in real-time on HoustonSchoolSurvey.com.
3. Who should answer the survey?
Parents and students should participate. Respondents should rate their current school but may also rate schools in which they or their student were previously enrolled. The survey will include pre-populated school names in a drop-down but schools that aren’t already listed may be typed-in.
4. Why should parents participate?
Responding to the survey helps schools better serve a parent’s child; responses help other parents make more informed choices, and responding enables parents to see how their school compares to others.
5. Why should students participate?
Students should seize the opportunity to provide their feedback because they are the ones who have the most to gain or lose by improving schools. Also, this survey is probably one of the few opportunities where adults actually ask for student feedback!
6. How will GenAc use the survey data?
General Academic will display the survey data in real time at HoustonSchoolSurvey.com. General Academic, Inc. is the sole owner of response data and reserves the right to use the data either in aggregate or in its original form. This usage of data includes but is not limited to sharing with subject schools, publication online, and in print.
7. How accurate will the survey data be?
The ability to confidently gain a broad view of survey data results will depend on the number of responses in proportion to the number of enrolled students at an individual’s schools certain grade. In general, this survey is intended more to shed more light on some of the more intangible characteristics of a school’s qualities versus provide hard, scientific data with which to rank schools. Scientifically speaking, assuming that a school has a population of 1000 students, approximately 100 people will need to respond in order to have a margin of error of 10%.
8. How will the survey data help students?
More transparency into how schools operate and in comparison with each other will catalyze parents to push schools to improve. The end result will be a better educational experience for students at all schools.
9. Why should schools help out?
Schools should welcome the survey data because a quorum of data will help schools improve and market their services. Partner schools will receive early access to survey data and have the opportunity to comment on any results. These comments will be posted along side the data both online and in print. There will be no charge for schools to include their comments with published data.
10. How do schools participate?
We encourage schools to partner with us. We ask that partner schools actively encourage their communities to respond to the Survey and to help us compile more complete profiles about their schools, information that can then be used by the schools to better serve their community. Schools interested in working closer with us should contact us for more information.
